Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India is making strong and serious efforts to host the 2036 Olympic Games. He stressed that the government is fully committed to promoting sports and creating more opportunities for athletes across the country.

The Prime Minister also confirmed that India will host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, calling it an important step towards preparing the nation for even bigger global sporting events like the Olympics. According to him, hosting such mega events will help Indian players get greater exposure, better facilities, and more chances to compete at the international level.
Mr. Modi said that sports infrastructure is being strengthened across the country and young talent is being encouraged from the grassroots level. He added that international tournaments hosted in India will not only boost athletes’ confidence but also inspire the youth to take up sports professionally.
The Prime Minister highlighted that hosting the Olympics would place India among the world’s leading sporting nations and reflect the country’s growing global stature. He said the government’s focus is on sports development, athlete welfare, and making India a global sports hub.
