Is BJD witnessing internal cracks?

Mayurbhanj: A blanket distribution programme organised by former BJD MP Rabindra Jena in Badasahi area of Mayurbhanj district has sparked political discussion after the event banner did not feature the photo of BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik or the party symbol.
Sources said the neutral banner has fueled speculation about possible internal differences within the Biju Janata Dal and whether Jena is adopting a more independent political approach. Observers pointed out that similar instances were earlier seen where BJD leaders like Debashish Samantaray, Ranendra Pratap Swain (Raja Swain) and Sana Mahakud held programmes without party branding.
Political circles noted that Rabindra Jena has been keeping some distance from official BJD programmes in recent times, further adding to the speculation. Attempts to contact him for a response were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, discussions about a possible internal rift within the BJD have intensified, with reports of differences involving senior leader Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby Das) and leaders linked to the Korei constituency. Recently, without naming anyone, Bobby Das appeared to criticise former MLAs from Korei for distancing themselves after gaining political benefits.
He stressed that such actions have created divisions within the party and emphasised the need for unity to face political challenges ahead.
