A massive landslide hit the Srinagar–Baramulla–Uri highway (NH-1) near Baramulla on Friday morning, bringing traffic to a halt. Videos showed large rocks and soil crashing down from the hillside as motorists ran for safety. No injuries were immediately reported.
Kashmir is currently facing extreme winter conditions during Chilla-e-Kalan, with very cold temperatures, dense fog, and snowfall in higher areas like Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.1°C as the cold wave continues across the Valley.
