Cash bundles and gold ornaments have been recovered from the houses of cattle smugglers.
Police have carried out a major operation against illegal cattle transport in three districts of North Odisha. Raids were conducted at multiple locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj under the Eastern Range. A total of 32 places were searched at the same time.
Around 18 platoons of force, 8 Additional SPs, 17 DSPs, 25 Inspectors, and 67 SI and ASI officers took part in the operation.
More than ₹50 lakh in cash has been seized along with a large quantity of gold and silver ornaments. Several two-wheelers and four-wheelers used in cattle smuggling were also recovered. Weapons were also seized from different locations.
During the raids, 6 people from Bhadrak, 4 from Balasore, and more than 4 from Mayurbhanj have been detained and are being questioned.
Eastern Range DIG Pinak Mishra said that a complete list of seized items will be shared after the operation is over.
