newly constructed veterinary centres which are yet to be utilized
Meanwhile, veterinary services are suffering from mismanagement owing to lack of government finance and manpower.

In all, there are eight veterinary centres within the jurisdiction of Suliapada block in Mayurbhanj district, out of which five centres have been manned by veterinarians while the rest two veterinary centres, having been recently constructed in 2011-12 at Uphalagadia and Badhvalia, are not in use, leading to public discontent.
Now, the two veterinary centres lie in an abandoned state, and according to locals, the construction fund allotted by the government is being frittered away.

As per available information, the positions of veterinarians are filled up at Deuli, Kostha, Kanimahuli, Badhdhenkia and Chuhat, while there are vacancies in other places such as Baghda, Anlakuda and Kujidihi. As a result, many issues arise in connection with veterinary services, according to locals.
Dr. Prashant Kumar Mahalik, Suliapada Block Veterinary Officer, opined that the recently constructed veterinary centres are not functioning due to a dearth of doctors, manpower and finance from the government side.
