Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray criticised the unopposed election of ruling alliance candidates in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls, calling it an “insult to democracy.” The Thackeray cousins said such uncontested victories weaken democratic competition and deny voters a real choice.
Ahead of the civic elections, the two leaders jointly released their manifesto, focusing on key urban issues.
