Trump Says U.S. Will ‘Run’ Venezuela After Maduro’s Capture

Former U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States would take control of Venezuela until a “safe, proper and judicious transition” is achieved, following U.S. strikes that resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro. Trump also said U.S. oil companies would step in to repair Venezuela’s damaged oil infrastructure and help the country generate revenue, marking a sharp statement on Washington’s role in Venezuela’s political and economic future.
