Gandia Police recently detained two people and seized a car containing 320 litres of illicit country liquor.
The seizure was made on the Gandia-Dhenkanal main road at Sapua Jhar. The registration number of the vehicle in the case is OD-07-Q-0535. Police stated that the liquor was smuggled.
Police have arrested two persons in Bhadrak for selling cannabis. The arrested persons have been identified as Sushanta Bhuyan (39) of Jhumpudia village under Chandrasekhar Prasad area and Tutu Ojha (38) of Athagarh.
Police claim the first sighting of the vehicle was from the Sadar police station area. The officers chased the vehicle which was proceeding towards Joranda and sped away through Bidharpur. Despite attempts to flee, the Gandia Police continued to chase the vehicle, which was finally intercepted at Sapua Jhar with the arrest of both accused and the liquor seizure.
A case has been filed with Gandia Police under case number 277/26. The police presented both accused in court after their medical examination.
The IIC Gandia Pratap Chandra Dalei confirmed the arrest and seizure.
