The climax of the 2nd MMFC Floodlight Football Tournament-2026 took place on Tuesday night in Sinapali of Nuapada district, attracting football lovers from all over.
Conducted by MMFC Sinapali at PM Shri High School playground, the finals presented the audience with an entertaining game under the lights.
The final match between MMFC Sinapali and Vela kicked off with both teams showing their best skills from the very beginning. In the end, MMFC Sinapali managed to score the only goal during the second half of the game, winning with 1-0 result and becoming champions of the tournament.
As winners, MMFC Sinapali got not only the title but also a cash prize of ₹7,000 and a trophy. The team of Vela was awarded with ₹5,000 and a trophy for becoming the runners-up of the tournament.
Among the guests at the tournament, one can name Khariar MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi. Others are Lambodar Nial, Meena Ghivela, Subrata Kumar Thakur, Manoranjan Meher and Ari Ranjan Joshi. They cheered the teams and congratulated the winners, mentioning the importance of such sports tournaments in directing young people towards healthy competition.
A particular highlight of the event was the felicitation of ten former football players hailing from the Sinapali area for their contributions towards football.

Shankar Suna proved to be the outstanding performer of the tournament and earned Man of the Series, Man of the Final and Best Scorer awards respectively. The Vela team bagged the Best Discipline Team award, whereas Pradyumna won the award for Emerging Player.
Riku Majhi, Chandra Majhi, Biharilal Masara and Suman Majhi were the referees during the final match of the tournament. Live commentaries during the entire match were given by national-level commentators Prakash Chandra Patra and Bhaskar Majhi.
Moreover, the final match was also telecast live on YouTube, with millions watching the entire match.
The successful organization of this football tournament has indeed proved beneficial for all the youth of the region.
