Delhi Traffic Police issued more than 11,500 challans on December 31 during special checks ahead of New Year celebrations. The highest number of fines were for no-parking violations, with over 6,400 challans issued across the city. Police also booked motorists for pollution certificate violations, riding without helmets, drunken driving, and dangerous driving. Special teams were deployed at busy roads, markets, and party areas to prevent accidents and traffic jams.
