“Ghasiram Majhi Memorial Council formed”

The meeting was convened by senior lawyer Prasanna Padhi with the participation of lawyers and intellectuals of the town. In that meeting, a “Ghasiram Majhi Memorial Council” has been formed in honor of Ghasiram Majhi, who is a founder of Nuapada district and a former minister.

The late Majhi’s daughter Sarojini Majhi has been appointed as the convenor of the council. Meanwhile, lawyer Prasanna Padhi is the President, senior leader Jadumani Panigrahi working president, and Homsing Majhi general secretary and treasurer of the memorial.

Earlier, on March 2, a lorry hit the statue of late Majhi, and it was completely ruined. The statue is placed at Ekta Chowk and has been causing insult to the people of the district.
