The BJP has strongly criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly threatening Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to the state.

Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said Mamata Banerjee made remarks suggesting that Amit Shah was “hiding in a hotel” and claimed that she had “allowed” him to step out. Patra termed the comments unthinkable and dangerous, accusing the Chief Minister of running a “tanasahi” (dictatorship) in West Bengal.
The BJP said such statements lower the dignity of constitutional positions and reflect the state of law and order under the TMC government
