External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that India has the right to protect its people when neighbouring countries support terrorism. Speaking to students at IIT Madras, he said that while countries hope for good neighbours, “unfortunately, we do not have that,” clearly hinting at Pakistan.
Referring to terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Jaishankar said if a country deliberately and repeatedly supports terrorism, India will defend itself and will not hesitate to take action to protect its citizens.
