Six-Year-Old Girl Found Murdered in Migrant Colony at Whitefield, Bengaluru

A six-year-old girl was found murdered in a migrant labourers’ colony at Pattandur Agrahara in Whitefield, east Bengaluru, on January 5, police said.
The victim has been identified as Shahnaz Khatun, daughter of Inzamam Sheikh, a migrant labourer from West Bengal. According to the police, Inzamam Sheikh had seen the child playing outside the family’s makeshift house when he briefly returned home for lunch.
Later in the day, when the girl was found missing, a search was launched by family members and locals. Her body was subsequently discovered within the colony under suspicious circumstances, prompting police intervention.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot, and a case of murder has been registered. The body was sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Police have launched a detailed investigation and are questioning residents of the area while scanning CCTV footage from nearby locations.
