Farmers Raise Questions on Irrigation Project
Rayagada irrigation project failure: Some critical issues have been raised regarding the Pujariguda minor irrigation project in Kalyansinghpur block. Crores of money had been spent, but water could not be made available to the farm fields.
The irrigation scheme had been initiated in 2019 and finished in 2020. Around ₹2.52 crore had been invested on this project. Nevertheless, even after six years, the project had not reached the villagers.
Consequently, farmers in this area were finding it difficult to undertake their farming activities due to the problem and were feeling disappointed with the administration.
Some of the concerns raised by locals include quality issues of the project along with its non-achievement of its goal.
What is worse, despite passing many years, administrative measures have yet to be taken in this matter. Even with repeated requests from the farmers, no solution has been found.
