Special Intensive Revision Programme to Begin from May 30

As directed by the Election Commission of India, SIR will start from Kandhamal district from May 30 onwards. As part of this exercise, BLOs will make house-to-house visits and distribute two Enumeration Forms to every voter in the district. It is mandatory for voters to fill their details and return one filled-in form to the BLOs. This will be done until June 28, 2026.

Kandhamal Collector Ved Bhushan told the press that BLOs will make house-to-house visits in the district. Voters having issues regarding voter registration can directly approach BLOs for help.

Revision will be conducted in all 661 polling booths in the district. Officials informed that mapping of the voters list of the year 2025 with that of 2002 has been done and more than 96 percent verification of the record has been done. Kandhamal district has a total of 5,70,898 voters at present.

Those voters whose information is yet to be verified will have to furnish valid information to have their names put down in the electoral roll. Voters residing in any area or state other than the district will be able to file their Enumeration Form online on the portal of the Election Commission of India.

Citizens facing issues in filing the form will be able to take assistance from their BLOs. The BLOs will be available in their respective office every day from 3 PM to 5 PM for helping citizens.

The draft electoral roll under the process of Special Intensive Revision will be put forth on July 5, 2026. Applications/objections may be made in the period of July 5 to August 4, 2026, to the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. All applications/objections will be settled by September 2, 2026.
