People of Jajpur are experiencing extreme difficulty due to the raging heatwaves in their surroundings. As the heat crosses 40 degrees Celsius regularly, people find it difficult to manage in this unbearable climate. This situation has been further exacerbated due to the working of the illegal brick kilns in this region.
Though these brick kilns can easily be spotted by any member of the administration, yet these hundred brick kilns continue to work, polluting the environment and causing a further rise in the temperature. There is an increasing amount of allegations about the negligence of the authorities towards these kilns.
Some of the main places where the brick kilns operate illegally are Sundarimuhan, Garadeswar, Sidheswar, Malaandpur, and Mulapal of Jajpur District. People find their lives hellish with these brick kilns producing a lot of smoke and heat in their surroundings.
There are many brick kilns on the road, which operate all through the day. Bricks get transported using trucks and tractors. With the rising temperature already crossing 40-degree Celsius, these brick kilns make it even more unbearable for the locals.
The people residing around such kilns are extremely troubled due to smoke and high temperatures all the time. There is a claim that the authorities are only fining them minimally without taking any stringent measures to stop them from functioning illegally.
The locals have made some serious complaints about the authorities’ silence in this regard and what action will be taken against them.
