In men’s Under-19 cricket, India will take on South Africa in the first Youth One-Day International of the three-match series at Willowmoore Park, Benoni, today. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM IST.
The series comes just ahead of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, which gets underway on January 15, and will serve as crucial preparation for both sides as they fine-tune their squads for the global tournament.
India will be led by Vaibhav Suryavanshi, with regular skipper Ayush Mhatre ruled out of the series due to a wrist injury.
South Africa, captained by Muhammad Bulbulia, boast a strong and balanced squad. The hosts will also use the series to assess combinations and build momentum ahead of the marquee event.
