Headmaster Suspended Over Alleged Abuse of Students in School

An outrageous case of child abuse has come to light in Jajpur district, where a headmaster is suspended for inflicting inhumane punishment on kids.

The incident occurred at Saruabil Upper Primary School of Kaliapani cluster in Sukinda block. It was reported that the accused headmaster Basudev Dehuri inflicted punishment by putting stinging plants in the pockets of children, making them suffer excruciatingly painful moments.

Immediately after the incident took place on April 17, the affected students faced trauma, resulting in an outburst among parents. When informed about the घटना, the guardians visited the institution and confronted the accused headmaster, creating unrest there.

In addition, a complaint in writing was registered at Kaliapani police station against the accused. Moreover, the members of the School Management Committee, along with its president Ranjan Sahu, got involved in this case.

It is being said that the accused headmaster accepted his mistake and gave a written undertaking that he would never do so again. In the beginning, the problem was solved locally. However, after the incident became public due to media reports, strict actions were taken against him.

Finally, the Block Education Officer, Narayan Chandra Das, suspended the accused headmaster.

This case has received criticism on all fronts, and there have been demands to take strong action against the culprits who misbehaved with their students.
