Villagers Allege Denial of Supply Over Voting Dispute
An acute drinking water scarcity situation has emerged in Ragauda Sahi in Tarakot Panchayat of Korei block. As per reports, more than 20 families have become victims of lack of water supply through Basudha drinking water scheme .
In earlier days, there were no problems regarding distribution of drinking water; water was directly distributed to their houses. But now, due to damages to pipelines, it has become difficult for villagers to get access to safe drinking water. The damaged pipelines have resulted in the disruption of water supply for the last two years, yet there has been no remedial measure taken up by the concerned authority.
The residents have lodged a written complaint against the BDO and Sarpanch of the area, but nothing has been done yet.
But an alarming accusation came from certain women, stating that the Sarpanch has deliberately stopped supplying drinking water to families who refused to vote during elections.
