In the District Congress Committee meeting on cooperatives and farmers’ issues held in Rayagada, it was brought to light how farmers are facing hardships in the cooperative and other sectors.
As per the participants in the meeting, nearly 180 farmers from 11 blocks in Rayagada are being denied any benefits through government schemes and programs. It was claimed that there is an issue with the delivery of these schemes to the farmers properly, which results in their rising discontentment with these programs.
The leaders present at the meeting highlighted the need for improving the cooperative sector. According to them, it is necessary to make sure that the farmers get timely assistance and all the schemes are implemented properly in time.
It was also mentioned in the meeting that due to certain problems in the cooperative sector, farming is getting negatively impacted. Thus, there is a pressing need for the government to resolve these problems immediately.
Further warning against agitations, the leaders said that agitation will continue till the time these problems are solved.
