An event called “Mahila Jan Akrosh Samabesh” took place in Nilgiri yesterday. This programme was conducted due to the current discussion about the Women’s Reservation Bill, which was proposed by the BJP in Parliament. According to the organizers, the objection raised by Congress and several political parties about this bill is leading to anger among women across the nation.
This demonstration began at the Nilgiri NAC Kalyan Mandap and continued till the Durga Mandap area after passing through the city. In this protest, the effigies of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, and Akhilesh Yadav were burnt by the demonstrators.

After this, a public meeting was arranged in the vicinity of the Nilgiri Dak Bungalow. At this venue, Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi became a part of the meeting. Discussion was done about giving more importance to women and providing them with better chances in life. The organizers mentioned that the Prime Minister is striving hard for women’s welfare.
