A bomb threat warning has been made against the Baral Balunkeshwar Temple in Satyabadi of Puri district. The anonymous caller has asked for ₹59 lakh and stated that the temple will be destroyed if the amount is not paid.
It is reported that the bomb threat warning has been issued through telephone calls as well as messaging to servitor Satyabrata Mohapatra. It is also pointed out that this number was involved in threatening in an identical incident in Puri.

After receiving such threatening, executive officer of the temple Laxmidhar Panda has registered an official complaint with the Sakhigopal police station. Now the police have taken up the matter seriously and are planning to enhance security measures at the temple.
On the other hand, the local community is already on tenterhooks due to various disputes over temple property. They have been complaining about issues like garbage disposal, poor drainage facility during rainfalls, and difficult parking situation even after the temple has been put under administration.
Previous incidents of dispute over the temple’s property in the vicinity have only worsened people’s suspicion. They have now raised their concerns over the role of the administration.
